Let me introduce myself – I’m Jedediah Croft.
Not “Jed”. Not “Jay”.
Jedediah.
My brother is Jon Croft. I’ve taken over the helm of his writing Domains (www.bogironprivateer.com; www.bogironpatriot.com; and www.bogironslav.com) and have consolidated them all into this one.
I named this blog www.bogironfoundry.com after the old property my brother and I were raised in on Old Forge Lake in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. I’ve kept our goat mascot – we call her “Lipstick” – because she’s adorable and goats are cool. And lucky. Especially cute black ones with pretty faces.
I’ve also kept the email address – vlchek1@gmail.com – for reasons of continuity, continuing “string” emails and practicality.
When Jon started this creative writing endeavor, we discussed what he was looking for. His vision: an easy forum wherein people with a “writing itch to scratch” could post their scribblings – provided, of course, they had some ability to string words together in a reasonably coherent and textually correct fashion. You didn’t have to be a master wordsmith like Tucker Carlson, but you couldn’t drool out nonsense like Kamala Harris or AOC, either.
Jon proved to be a tougher taskmaster than I gave him credit for. He had a high standard – and he kept to it. I will continue that tradition – although I admit right off the hop that I have extremely little patience with anyone who doesn’t know words. If you can’t express yourself with clarity and accuracy – don’t write. If you can’t paint pictures with words, take up another hobby. It’s that simple.
Brother Jon Croft has withdrawn into the Superstition Mountains – the Sonoran Desert – of Arizona (“somewhere on the ridge of the Tonto National Forest” according to his recent texts) to write the Great American Novel. Frankly, I’d prefer he spent his time searching for the infamous Lost Dutchman Mine there. Oh, well.
This Blog (“The Foundry”) is still all about writing. From time-to-time Jon may submit a story line he’s completed during his self-imposed exile. In the meantime, I’m going to move forward with my own brand of commentary, reportage, unvarnished truth and political realism with a Jersey flavor. There will be sarcasm, acerbic wit, ugliness, unabashed exposures of whatever I perceive to be relevant – and absolutely no political correctness or other such Bullshit. Ever.
One last thing to get out into the open: I’m not a Democrat. I’m not a Republican. I’m an Independent. I don’t believe that the United States of America should be involved in wars anywhere – especially wars that only benefit other countries. Unless any international situation can clearly benefit the USA solely, we should pass on it. There is virtue in isolationism and keeping one’s own front porch clean and tidy.
Anybody here caught spying on the USA for any foreign government should be unceremoniously shot. Anybody lobbying for any foreign government should be deported to that country and suffer his or her US citizenship revoked. Dual citizenship should be a felony-grade crime in all circumstances. No exceptions.
America’s soon going to face some serious economic, political and international headwinds.
It’s time we all get real – and get ready.
